Riverbed Steelheads are CDP compatible

I have spotted recently that Riverbed Steelheads support CDP, which is good, especially for In-Path deployments. I have no idea why this neat feature is disabled by default, nor I found how to enable it from the web interface. But here’s the trick…

Connect to the Steelhead via SSH and execute

configure terminal
 in-path cdp enable

That’s it. Once applied, you will be able to see Steelheads from any Cisco device by using show cdp neighbors or show cdp entry name, where you will find InPath interface, RIOS version and Steelhead Appliance model.
